Factors causing premature damage due to vibration of rolling bearings

The main factors affecting the use of rolling bearings refer to whether installation, adjustment, maintenance, and repair meet technical requirements. According to the technical requirements for bearing installation, use, maintenance, and upkeep, monitor and inspect the load, speed, working temperature, vibration, noise, and lubrication conditions of the rolling bearings in operation. If any abnormalities are found, immediately identify the cause and make adjustments to restore them to normal. Installation conditions are one of the primary factors in the use of bearings. Improper installation of bearings often leads to changes in the stress state between the various parts of the entire bearing. When the bearing operates in an abnormal state and ends its service life early, the internal factors mainly refer to the three major factors that determine the quality of the bearing, including structural design, manufacturing process, and material quality.

1、 Improper installation (approximately 16%)

1. Using brute force during installation and directly striking the tapered roller bearing with a hammer can cause significant damage to the bearing; It is the main cause of deformation.

2. Inadequate installation, installation deviation or failure to install in bearing position, resulting in small clearance of tapered roller bearings. The inner and outer rings are not at the same center of rotation, resulting in non concentricity.

Suggestion: Choose appropriate or professional bearing installation tools, and use specialized instruments for testing after installation.

2、 Poor lubrication (approximately 50%)

According to the investigation, poor lubrication is one of the main reasons for premature bearing damage. The main reasons include: failure to add lubricants or lubricating oil in a timely manner; Lubricants or lubricating oil not filled in place; Improper selection of lubricants or lubricants; Incorrect lubrication method, etc.

Suggestion: Choose the correct lubricant or oil and use the correct lubrication method.

3、 Pollution (approximately 14%)

Pollution can also cause premature damage to rolling bearings, which refers to the entry of sand, dust, metal shavings, etc. into the interior of the bearings. The main reasons include: opening the packaging of tapered roller bearings too early before use, causing pollution; Unclean working environment during installation, causing pollution; The working environment of bearings is not clean, and the working medium is contaminated.

Suggestion: Do not open the packaging of the bearings before use; Maintain a clean installation environment and clean the bearings to be used during installation; Enhance the sealing device of the bearing.

4、 Fatigue (approximately 34%)

Fatigue failure is a common way of bearing damage. The common causes of fatigue failure may be: long-term overload operation of bearings; Failure to repair in a timely manner; Improper maintenance; Equipment aging, etc.

Suggestion: Choose the appropriate bearing type and replace fatigue bearings regularly and promptly.
